The University of Michigan- Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute (UM-SJTU JI) is famous for its excellent students and top-notch teachers. On November 28, 40 students and teachers also showed off their sports skills in the “Who’s the BAD Guy?” badminton tournament.
Eight outstanding teams participated in the fierce competition. According to the rules, each team had to include at least one teacher. Dropping their heavy load of teaching and research for the evening, a couple of teachers played side by side with students as teams. It was eye-opening for students to see their normally serious teachers playing around the badminton court.
The double-elimination game gave lost teams opportunity to overtake and to learn from each other. After rounds of intense competition, Professor Hua Boa’s team won the runner-up.
The tournament lasted three hours and attracted a large crowd. The game brought JI students and teachers together to have fun and relax from busy work.
