The highly anticipated annual University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute (UM-SJTU JI) New Student Welcome Show kicked off at the SJTU Jingjing Auditorium on October 22. With the timely theme of “the New Students,” the dazzling feast of sight and sound conveyed the JI family’s best wishes to the new students while showcasing JI students’ amazing artistic talents.

Exciting lucky draw
Fifteen winners emerged from the exciting lucky draw and received fantastic gifts. The special price winner even performed a rap on the spot. At intermission, JI alumni bestowed their sincere wishes on the new students via video.

The programs were intermixed with interesting and inspiring video clips of interviews with freshmen and faculty members’ encouraging words and the students working hard behind the scenes.
The curtain was drawn with the final chorus of “Put your hand in my hand,” concluding another successful show which will forever etch in the memories of the JI family.
