The 2012 SJTU Faculty and Staff Athletics Game was held on November 1-2, 2012, under the autumn sky and warm sunshine. The high-spirited JI team of 35 faculty and staff members, sporting bright yellow-and-blue uniforms, led by leaders Robert Parker, Peisen Huang, Wansheng Zhao, and Pam Byrnes, paraded into the stadium waving JI flag, pennants, and balloons, an impressive sight to behold. JI’s group gymnastics was executed with unity and precision, the fruit of their labor in the past 2 months.
The preparation for this biannual game kicked off in September. Silvia Li, JI’s HR Administrative Assistant and coordinator for this event, made sure that the JI team practice the gymnastics twice a week and encouraged the community members to participate in the individual competitions. The process provided a great opportunity for faculty and staff to team up and compete for JI. It was a valuable team-building experience for everyone.
Consequently, the JI team did very well and won 4 group prizes and 3 individual prizes, which were:
Opening Entrance Parade : the second prize
Group Gymnastics: the third prize
Female Group A Basketball Shooting: the fourth prize
Male Group B Basketball Shooting: the third prize
