Cultural Heritage
Founded in 2006, the University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute (JI) is the result of a strategic partnership between two top universities in the U.S. and China. The goal of this partnership is to build a world-class institute in China for nurturing future leaders with global visions. Since the establishment, JI has actively integrated the philanthropic spirit from both universities and inherited their culture value, and thus won broad support from a wide range of JIers including faculty and students, friends, alumni, parents, corporates and non-profit organizations, etc.
JI provides the opportunities of naming rights for designated facilities and areas in honor of major donors who have made substantial contributions to JI or to education in general. The available naming facilities and areas include student discussion rooms, conference rooms, the main atrium, and multiple areas of the Long Bin Building.
JI also provides the naming rights for designated academic units in honor of major donors including those who have made substantial contributions to JI or to education in general. The available naming academic units include Education Center for Entrepreneurship (CFE), Education Center for Interdisciplinary (CIE), and multiple teaching centers and laboratories in the Long Bin Building.
