Parents Association

The UM-SJTU Joint Institute (JI) Parent Association was established when JI was founded in 2006, as a non-profit group spontaneously organized by JI volunteer parents. All JI parents are members of the Parent Association.

The JI Parent Association stands for the best interests of the students, their families and the society. The mission of the Parent Association is to provide support and connection among the parents and with JI, promote support of cooperation, and create a better and fairer environment for JI students.

Be a Parent Volunteer

It is the common goal of JI and all student families to wish the students achieve success. We invite the parents to become an important part of JI by becoming volunteers in the following aspects:

Members of Parents Presidium
Members of each class of Parents Presidium foster constructive dialogues between JI and Parents while serving as parents ambassadors.
Administrators of Social Platforms
Administrators of parents QQ and WeChat groups are responsible for the enrollment and maintenance of the members and groups.
Mentoring
Parents are encouraged to provide mentorship in person or virtually with JI or non-JI parents for accountability and encouragement.
Parents Activities and Events
Initiate and organize any forms of parent activities, participate JI events while serving as parents volunteers.
Admission Ambassadors
Recommend JI to the high school students and their parents while serving as admission ambassadors.
Career Connections
Post internships and jobs opportunities to students and graduates, recommend resources and funding from corporates and society.
Other Voluntary Ways
Any other voluntary ways not mentioned here to support JI are warmly welcomed.

Parents Social Platforms

All JI parents are welcomed to join parents social platforms, QQ Group and Wechat Group, to build an online and offline JI family community. By joining the platforms, parents could makes friends all over the countries whiling learning the latest news about students activities, sharing progresses and cheering for successes of their children.
