JI Clubs

There are various kinds of clubs in JI, which provide a perfect platform for the students to meet with new friends, keep fit and healthy, and release the stress.

JI Soccer Club
The soccer club of UM-SJTU Joint Institute (JI) is established by a group of students who are crazy about soccer. Soccer is the bond between every member of us. Just as the name of the club shows, the main activity of soccer club is to play soccer. Every weekend, we will hold a soccer game at Nanyang Soccer Field or the South Field. Sometimes, we will also have barbeque together. Also, it will be easier for you to enter JI Soccer Team and enter for the Freshmen Cup and JI Soccer cup.

JI Badminton Club
The badminton club of UM-SJTU Joint Institute (JI) is built to gather all badminton lovers in JI. No matter what level the skills you have, you can come anytime you want. Besides organizing weekly activities, our badminton club also holds badminton competitions in JI and arranges classes teaching badminton. In the spring semester, our badminton club will organize a JI badminton team to join in the competition in SJTU. Whether you play well or not, as long as you have a passion for badminton, you’re welcomed to join us!

JI Basketball Team
The basketball team of UM-SJTU Joint Institute (JI) is made up of a group of students who like basketball. They perform physical training and skill exercises every week. The students enhanced their friendship and strengthened their physique while playing basketball.

JI Book Bar
The Book Bar of UM-SJTU Joint Institute (JI) is operated and managed by a team of students, who are innovative and actively exploring, aiming to build a humanistic oasis for engineering students. JI Book Bar set up a book corner in Yu Liming student center, manage all books through classification entry and build a book-lending system, which is open to all students and teachers. In addition, JI Book Bar management staff also open the “JI book bar” WeChat account, regularly recommending popular books, pushing the book review written by students, and holding many exchanges such as humanities lectures.
