Description:
This course will examine the interaction between China and Europe during the early modern period from the perspective of global history. Through lecture and discussion of scholarly books and primary sources, we will explore three phenomena: the trade between China and maritime Europe, the missionaries in China, and the Sino-Dutch War.
Course Topics:
