This course will cover basic concepts and theories of digital communications. The topics include: Introduce basic information theory; Study basic source coding theory and algorithms; Study scalar and vector quantization theory and approaches; Understand basic modulation schemes and theories; Understand demodulation and detection theories; Study basic channel coding theory and schemes; Study optimal receivers under AWGN and band-limited channels.
