Course Topics:
This course introduces 1) components and functions of a typical business organization and 2) related communication situations. Our readings reflect changes in the global business environment to highlight contemporary workplace issues. We focus on the skill sets required for various types of communication: internal vs. external; strategic and problem-solving; virtual and intercultural; internationalizing and localizing. Class format includes lecture, discussion, individual practice, group activities, case studies.
