Description:
This course focuses on the fundamental circuit building blocks in high-frequency wireless communication. Passive and active circuits components will be discussed in the course. Students will learn the physics as well as simulation tools associated with advanced circuit and electromagnetic design tools.
Course Topics:
Introduction to wireless communication. TRx architecture. A review of basic electromagnetism. Transmission line theory. Impedance Matching . Scattering Matrix. Smith Chart.
Semiconductor and amplifiers. Biasing Circuits. Power Amplifiers. Bandwidth Estimation. Noise Theory. Oscillators. Low noise amplifiers. Mixers. Passive filters.
