This course will follow the idea and concept of love through Western history and the Western literary tradition. We will look at the different approaches to love that have been developed by thinkers and writers and then see how the creation of texts about love can change the idea it is meant to study.

Course Topics:

1.An understanding of the history of love.
2.Understanding the cultural elements of love.
3.Seeing how love has changed and developed over time as both an idea and a practice
4.Looking at the textual history of love
5.Crafting original arguments related to the theme of the course.
