For undergraduates
To check course grades, GPA and ranking
For GPA and ranking information, please use your SJTU email to send inquiries to ji-gpa@sjtu.edu.cn with your student number and name at the subject line. UEO will respond within 3 working days after receiving the emails.
To issue transcripts, Study Certificate and GPA/ranking Certificate
For accessing the electronic versions of transcripts and Study Certificate during campus shut-downs, please use your SJTU email to send inquiries to jwc_xssw@sjtu.edu.cn. Please attach a copy of your ID card if using other emails.
For GPA and ranking information, please register your need with the Undergraduate Education Office (Room 315, Long Bin Building) 3 days in advance.
During campus shut-downs, please use your SJTU email to send inquiries to ji-gpa@sjtu.edu.cn with your student number, name and specify “For GPA and ranking information” at the subject line, UEO will respond within 3 working days after receiving the emails.
Transfer to other schools
Qualified students can apply to transfer to other schools at SJTU from JI in late April, during the Spring semester of the first year. The timeline and procedures will be posted at http://jwc.sjtu.edu.cn/ and JI canvas.
It doesn’t apply to the international students of UECP (Undergraduate Engineering Cluster Program).
For other processes of department switching, you shall refer to the Student handbook of SJTU.
Change of Student Status (Suspension, Resumption, Drop-out and Extension)
Please refer to the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Student Handbook for details.
Suspension (for 6 months or longer): Students usually apply before the final exams of a semester. Students need to contact the Undergraduate Education office first and then apply at SJTU portal: my.sjtu.edu.cn.
Resumption: Students usually apply in the first week of the semester after the suspension ends. Students need to contact the Undergraduate Education office first and then apply at SJTU portal: my.sjtu.edu.cn.
Drop-out: Students need to work with the Student Advisors of their year first and then apply for dropping out of school by filling out the form which is only available at the Undergraduate Education Office. If for reasons you can’t do it on your own, the person who helps should bring a letter of authorization and ID card along when coming to the JI building. steps to follow
Extension: Students usually apply in March, during the Spring Semester of the 4th year. Students need to contact the Undergraduate Education office first and then apply at SJTU portal: my.sjtu.edu.cn. Please note students are required to pay regular tuition under this circumstance.
Academic Consulting and Advising
Academic Advising is offered by JI faculty and is usually available in JI’s Fall and Summer semesters.
Major declaration advising will be organized and offered by the Undergraduate Education office and is usually available in the end of the first year.
Academic warning and course enroll advising will be available to the students once they receive a warning and is jointly offered by the Undergraduate Education Office and the Student Affairs Office on a one-to-one basis.
