The Faculty Class Mentor Team of UM-SJTU Joint Institute(JI) is composed of professional faculties from Electronics and Computer Engineering(ECE), Mechanical Engineering(ME), Material Science and Engineering(MSE). We have rich foreign learning experience and many years of teaching experience, providing professional consulting support for students. My research is related to computer engineering, particularly electronic design automation and digital design. Sung-Liang Chen is an Associate Professor at the University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China. His research interests include photoacoustic imaging technology and applications, optical imaging systems, and miniature photoacoustic transducers and ultrasound sensors. He has published 40 peer-reviewed articles in journals, including Nature Photonics, Analytical Chemistry, and ACS Applied Energy Materials. He was a recipient of the Shanghai Pujiang Talent Award.

His research interests include wireless energy transfer, energy storage and management, and mechatronics.
