This year JI ushered in 74 international students from 21 countries including the United States, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Holland, Russia, Ukraine, Japan, Indonesia, Korea, Pakistan, Singapore, Madagascar, and Tunisia.

JI students win championship at 38th Odyssey of the Mind World Finals
The 38th Odyssey of the Mind (OM) World Finals were held at Michigan State University on May 24 – 27. The SJTU team, led by JI students, emerged from 850 teams from around the world and won the world championship in the college category.

Associate Dean Chien-Pin Chen appointed Tang Junyuan Chair Professor
Professor Chien-Pin Chen, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, has been appointed as the first Tang Junyuan Chair Professor at SJTU. The appointment ceremony was held at SJTU Xuhui Campus on April 21.
SJTU Longey Global Leader Scholarship established
The goal of the scholarship is to encourage SJTU students to actively engage in international affairs activities, especially to intern at the United Nations, the World Health Organization, and other international organizations.
