The new students of the Joint Institute arrived at the SJTU Minhang Campus on September 12 morning. A volunteer team of JI students in eye-catching T shirts were ready bright and early, waving JI’s giant flag and helping the new students settle into the JI family.
JI students sponsore Youth Engineering Design Contest with success
The contest participants gain precious experience of completing projects independently while making new friends with similar interest. JI TEC members have learned by teaching and honed their organization skills.They are looking forward to better performance next summer.
JI faculty scores high in 2015 NSFC Funding
The National Natural Science Foundation of China has recently announced the 2015 list of funded projects. Among the 17 projects applied by the JI faculty, 8 (47.1%) have secured the funding.
JI students won multiple innovation prizes
In August, a group of JI students won prizes in two different innovation competitions, i.e., TiC100 Smart City Innovation & Entrepreneurship Contest and “Magic Ideas” Chinese Innovator Competition, with their invention “Smart Belt for the elderly.”
First Tang Junyuan JI Scholarship awarded
The first Tang Junyuan JI Scholarships were awarded on the occasion of 2015 JI Summer Design Expo and open house held on August 5. The winners Ziqi Guo and Xieyang Liu received the awards from Dean Peisen Huang and officials of Shanghai Tang Jun Yuan Education Foundation.
