Consul General Robert Griffiths from the Consulate General of the U.S.A. at Shanghai visited SJTU on December 3 and gave a speech at the Joint Institute on U.S.-China cooperation.

Jiangran Zhao, a JI doctoral student of Prof. Kai Xu, has won the Best Student Paper Award at the 2013 IEEE/ASME International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics.

Under the witness of all parents and faculty, 2013 JI graduates received their hard-earned diplomas and learning certificates from Dean Ni and Associate Dean Li. The class presented to JI a present that will keep track of all graduates’ future moves. It was a moment of rejoicing and celebration, with smiles and embraces.

This year, JI Students’ Union organized a Welcome Team to carry on the tradition of “Passing the Torch of Compassion.”

This year’s JI graduate students recruitment summer camp took place from July 17h to 19h. Seventy students from China’s best universities attended the three-day event.

JI’s master students presented their thesis proposals on July 13. Twenty-two graduate students of the Class of 2011 participated in this historic event.
