讲座摘要
Studying the pressure effect on the thermal transport properties of metals is crucial to high pressure applications and fundamental research in earth science. As the high-pressure thermal measurements are challenging, theoretical approach and first-principles methods are widely adopted to investigate the pressure dependent thermal transport of metals. In this thesis, we adopt mode-level first-principles calculation to investigate the pressure effect on the electron and phonon thermal conductivity of metals in this work. Under the framework of this method, we choose three metals, aluminum (Al), Platinum (Pt), and tungsten (W) as prototypes to study the pressure dependent electron and phonon thermal conductivity of metals. Different mechanisms of pressure effect are revealed in these three metals.
主讲人简介
Xinyu Zhang received his B.S. degree from UM-SJTU Joint Institute, Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2019. He is currently a Master student at UM-SJTU Joint Institute, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His research interests focus on thermal transport of metals under extreme conditions.
