Abstract
Nonlinear optics is one of the bedrocks of modern photonics science and technology, it offers a rich and diverse set of nontrivial electromagnetic phenomena. Among which, frequency conversion processes such as harmonic generation, frequency down conversion, four-wave mixing are commonly realized, offering opportunities for various applications. In this thesis, two novel imaging methods, including super-resolution and thermal imaging, are developed through nonlinear wave conversion processes. We believe that by making full use of nonlinear optical wave conversions, more problems in the linear optics can be solved through totally novel schemes in nonlinear optics.
