Abstract
In the upcoming 6G era, various smart devices with a wide implementation of deep learning techniques and emerging digital twin technologies provide communications empowered by more edge intelligence. Though this new paradigm promotes the development of novel terminals with powerful cognition ability, it brings a great challenging issue to harness the multi-source and multi-dimensional data perception for developing joint sensing, communications, interaction and control services and applications. Fortunately, recent advances in material science is paving the way for the deployment of “hidden” and “smart” terminals with sensing and interaction abilities by the use of functional fibers and fabrics. This class of fabric sensing units ensure comfort, aesthetics, and privacy in smart spaces, with fine-grained sensing capabilities for humancomputer interaction. However, when applying fabric sensing units for sport and health, there exhibit various challenges from the fiber production, fabric design, stable interconnection between fabric and electric readout circuit, high-efficient data collection, and the perception of multi-dimensional data through a non-disturbance fashion. Specifically, it is a difficult and complex task to integrate data-driven computing and communication with such innovative fabric sensors. This talk will give several exemplified scenarios of sport and health, and shows how datadriven communication and computing empower the intelligence for those applications by AIdriven cognitive system for perception and interaction.
