Abstract

Acoustic sensors are widely applied in marine target identification, underwater communication, and other fields. Compared to optical hydrophones, the traditional piezoelectric hydrophones are limited by many factors under practical circumstances due to their less resistance to high temperature and electromagnetic interference. Among many optical sensors, the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) cavity-based optical sensors have a small size, large bandwidth, and good environmental stability, but the lower Q value of the cavity leads to low sensitivity. In this thesis, we propose to use materials with low elastic modulus and large acoustic-optical coefficients to fabricate SPR cavities, which can improve sensitivity.
