Abstract

Federated analytics (FA) is an emerging topic that conducts all kinds of data analytics in the age of privacy preservation. With FA, distilled insights are transmitted to the server while raw data stay where they are born, so that data analysts can still derive valuable results while the data privacy is preserved. In this defense, the author presents key concepts of FA, including its definition, position, taxonomy, and key techniques. Then, the author presents three novel FA designs that tackle different key data analytics applications with high data utility, strong privacy preservation, and scalability.
