Positions Details:

The UM-SJTU Joint Institute is running a very typical U.S. tenure system for faculty recruitment, promotion and evaluation, while the initial appointment for Assistant/Associate Professor will normally be on a three-year contract, renewable subject to mutual agreement. A comprehensive start-up package, including ample space for faculty, students, and laboratory work, critical research facilities, guaranteed quota of graduate students (PhD and master students) and support of research assistantship, will be provided.

Salary is highly competitive and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include family medical insurance plan, privilege to be admitted to the university-owned daycare and elementary schools (top level in Shanghai), housing allowance, and other housing benefits (where applicable).
