JI students stand out at 2024 MCM/ICM competition

Teams led or joined by the University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute (UM-SJTU JI, JI hereafter) undergraduate students delivered outstanding performance in the 2024 Mathematical Contest in Modeling/ Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (MCM/ICM), claiming awards including two Outstanding Winners, three Finalist Winners, 11 Meritorious Winners, five Honorable Mentions, and 12 Successful Participants for SJTU.

SJTU hosts 26th partnership board meeting amid visit of UM delegation

On May 21, the University of Michigan (UM) – Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) Partnership Board held its 26th meeting during the UM delegation’s visit to the SJTU campus with a series of bilateral exchange activities. The meeting, attended by board members from both universities, was presided over by SJTU President Kuiling Ding.

Suzhou Creek citywalk brings essence of Shanghai to JI faculty and students

More than 60 students and teachers from JI and the Shanghai High School International Division (SHSID) were guided on a walk along Suzhou Creek in Jing’an District of Shanghai on May 10. The walk is part of a “class beyond classroom” campaign under the 2024 “Urban Classroom” initiative aiming at guiding foreigners in the city to explore the very essence of Shanghai.
