JI Faculty Shines on 2013 NSFC Funding List
The 2013 list of research projects funded by National Nature Science Foundation of China (NSFC) has been published. Totally eight JI faculty members are granted by NSFC.
2013 JI Graduate Students Recruit-ment Summer Camp Concludes Successfully
This year’s JI graduate students recruitment summer camp took place from July 17h to 19h. Seventy students from China’s best universities attended the three-day event.

Dr. Horst Hohberger, JI’s popular mathematics lecturer, has won the award as one of “the Most Popular Teachers of SJTU” this year, among ten awardees that have been selected by SJTU students through electronic ballot.
JI’s Master Students Present their Thesis Proposals
JI’s master students presented their thesis proposals on July 13. Twenty-two graduate students of the Class of 2011 participated in this historic event.

To beef up students’ knowledge of the business world and expose them to the frontier technology, the Business Division of JI’s Students Union organized a visit to Google, Shanghai in Pudong on July 10. Twenty students participated in the event.

JI Celebrates July 4th with American Culture Night
To bring the American culture to the SJTU campus and to celebrate the Independence Day of the United States of America, the Joint Institute hosted the first “American Culture Night” on July 4, 2013. The festive activity attracted 150 students from across the SJTU campus beyond the JI community.
