A splendid opening ceremony of JI Culture Festival, Concert Music Never Gone, was held in Guangbiao Building in the evening of Mar. 19, 2012. The opening ceremony was entitled Fusion which meant a blending of Chinese culture and western culture combined with a hilarious atmosphere at JI. Ms. Lidan Shen, Deputy Secretary of SJTU Chinese Communist Youth League, Dr. Scott Yang, JI Academic Affairs Manager, Ms. QQ Wu, JI Students’ Affairs Manager and faculty members of Communist Youth League from other departments attended the opening ceremony. Masters of the ceremony introduced the 8 theme events of the JI Culture Festival:

Ms. Lidan Shen, Deputy Secretary of SJTU Chinese Communist Youth League gave the opening address. There are many cultural events in campus this year and she believes JI’s 8 theme events will put a cherry on top. Fangzhou Xia, Sijia He, the organizers of JI Talent Competition announced the list of nominees including amazing GPA Talents, Sports, Literature and Arts Talents, Super Popular Talents, etc. Dr. Scott Yang, JI Academic Affairs Manager announced the opening of JI Culture Festival, which drew applause.
The next Concert Music Never Gone gathered various musical talents. The concert was the first activity of the JI Culture Festival. Segments of opera and symphony, performance arts and so on were presented. Who says the engineering school is a desert of Arts? The JIers study hard and play hard. The wonderful and fantastic musical journey showed brilliance of the future engineers. The ongoing JI events this month will infuse new vigor into the campus.
