Prof. Olivier Bauchau, JI Associate Dean for Graduate Education and Chair of Graduate Committee, QQ Wu, Student Affairs Manager, Wentao Qian, Student Counselor, as well as graduate student officers and representatives attended the meeting. Zijin Lao, Academics Officer of the Graduate Student Union, officiated.
Prof. Bauchau briefed the students about the progress of JI’s graduate school, including study abroad opportunities, curricula, and other topics about which many students are very concerned. He answered students’ questions in great detail, which demonstrated JI’s ‘student-centered’ ideal.
Winners of Outstanding Contribution Awards
The Graduate Student Union Presidium members read the Union regulations and reported their work. During the past year, the Graduate Student Union has tackled many graduate student issues and organized various activities which enrich students’ extracurricular life and promote interaction among the students. The JI Graduate Student Union serves as the bridge between the administration and the graduate students by reflecting students’ trouble with curricula, request for more exchange among lab classes, and by discussing scholarship review regulations. The five members of the current Presidium were presented Outstanding Contribution Awards for their hard work and positive impact.
