Spicy curry, exotic Brazilian chocolate, hand-rolled sushi, golden crispy tortilla, fluffy cotton candy, shrimp stuffed mushroom… were just a few mouthwatering samples that enticed the crowd at the University of Michigan- Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute (UM-SJTU JI) International Gourmet Festival held in the evening of May 25.
To kick off the intensive summer semester and promote cultural exchange, the feast was jointly organized by JI Student Union Foreign Liaison Division and JI International Program Office, providing a relaxing opportunity for foreign students attending JI’s summer program to interact with local students.
At the cookout, ten carefully selected food stalls competed in whipping out the most delicious fares to lure customers. Through yummy morsels, friendships were made as well as intercultural exchange.
