On February 11, the eve of the Lunar New Year of the Ox, the University of Michigan – Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute (UM-SJTU JI, JI hereafter) hosted 2021 New Year Party for students who stayed put on campus for the Spring Festival.
JI leaders including Dean Peisen Huang, Party Secretary Ming Yang, Associate Dean Chien-Pin Chen, Deputy Party Secretary Scott Yang joined the event featuring a series of traditional Chinese cultural activities. The activities include making the dumplings, writing the Spring Festival couplets and Chinese character fu (meaning good fortune and happiness), lucky draw and games.
Peisen Huang extended new year’s greetings to students on behalf of JI management. He wished all stay safe, healthy and happy in the new year.
