JI postdoctorate enlisted by national innovative talent program
The University of Michigan – Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute (JI) postdoctoral fellow Xingyan Zhao was selected as part of China’s 2019 Postdoctoral Innovative Talent Support Program with her “all-silicon optoelectronic chip” research project.

By implementing active sensors, real-time damage detection and health monitoring of the host-structure can be achieved. It possesses great potential for future industrial applications to enhance the structural reliability, reduce maintenance cost, and shorten downtime.
