On June 30th, the SJTU Center for High Performance Computing and the UM-SJTU Joint Institute signed a memorandum of cooperation. Xinwan Li, JI’s Associate Dean for Research, and Yizhong Gu, Director of SJTU Center for HPC, signed the memorandum, witnessed by representatives from both parties.
SJTU Center for HPC and JI have exchanged ideas over the past few months and finally agreed on establishing a strategic collaboration which will target frontier research areas in engineering such as biological image processing, interdisciplinary algorithms, microstructure simulation analysis, heat transfer, etc. It is expected that with the support of high performance computing, the state key projects can take off.
Both parties believe that signing the memorandum of cooperation will improve the interdisciplinary research and enhance the collaboration among the departments/schools at SJTU. It is significant for deepening and expanding future collaborations within SJTU.
