A delegation named University of Michigan- Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute (UM-SJTU JI) Master Lectures visited three top high schools in Hebei Province from October 16 to 18, where Professor CP Chen, JI’s Associate Dean, delivered an inspiring lecture “The Mystery of the Rocket” and 2000 students and teachers also learned about JI.

Each of two lecture sessions captivated the 1000-people audience with interesting content and multimedia presentation. The auditorium was jam packed and echoed with applause. During the Q&A, the curious students bombarded Professor Chen with intelligent questions. The interaction was animated. Many students were deeply impressed by the lecture, considering it the best they had ever heard.

This exciting Master Lecture was followed by two recent successful presentations held in Guangdong and ShanXi. The series served to enrich the high school students’ scientific knowledge, broaden their horizon, stimulate their learning passion,and hopefully provide insights into their life goals.
