Part of the 46th Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) Faculty/staff Sports Game has just concluded. The University of Michigan- SJTU Joint Institute’s (UM-SJTU JI) team delivered outstanding performances at the swimming and table tennis competitions.

JI stole the spot light at the swimming pool. Two professors snatched both the gold and silver medals at the male 50 M free style: Roberto Dugnani finished first with 33.22 seconds, closely followed by Huan Qi who finished with 33.81 seconds. Sherry Yao, Director of Resource Management, won silver medal at the female 100 M frog style. In the mixed 6 x 50 M relay, the JI team composed of Sherry Yao, Kate Qi, Roberto Dugnani, Huan Qi, Jun Zhang and Ryan Thorpe won the bronze medal by seamless team work.
Roger Han played among the 16 finalists
In the table tennis game, Roger Han, Lab Manager, advanced to the 16 male finalists and Sherry Yao played among the 12 female finalists.
JI boasts top-notch faculties and highly professional staffs who work hard but also play hard. Like crouching tiger and hidden dragon, they are talented and well rounded, just like the JI students.
