To foster cultural and educational exchanges between the two countries, an agreement has been reached between China and the US to increase the number of American students studying in China.
To support this goal, the UM-SJTU Joint Institute (the Joint Institute) is excited to announce a scholarship opportunity for students attending a semester exchange at the Joint Institute, commencing from Fall 2024. The scholarship, is sponsored by Trip.com Group, a leading global travel service provider. It will cover tuition, international flights, accommodation, and culturally immersive activities and trips in Shanghai and other parts of China during the semester. Additionally, students will receive a monthly stipend of 1,000 RMB (roughly USD 140).
This scholarship will be available to students who are American citizens and have a strong overall performance with a GPA higher than 3.6/4.0. To apply for the scholarship, students are required to provide an additional application letter that should include a personal photo, a CV, and a strong recommendation letter from faculty, industry leaders, mentors, or supervisors.
