A research team led by Associate Professor Lei Shao at the University of Michigan – Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute (UM-SJTU JI, JI hereafter), has published their latest research findings in Physical Review Letters, a leading journal in the field of physics. The paper, titled “Self-Injection Locked and Phase Offset-Free Micromechanical Frequency Combs,” introduces a novel self-injection locking mechanism for micromechanical frequency combs, offering significant advancements in nonlinear dynamics and precision clock signal sources.

The University of Michigan – Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute (UM-SJTU JI, JI hereafter) has hosted a group of students from UM Ann Arbor for a week-long overseas study program in Shanghai. The sustainability-themed M-Engin program ran from March 1 to March 9.
JI establishes GDP partnership with NTU
The University of Michigan – Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute (UM-SJTU JI, JI hereafter) has announced a new partnership with Singapore-based Nanyang Technological University (NTU), further expanding its Global Degree Pathways (GDP) program. This collaboration extends the program to 12 master’s programs across three NTU colleges, strengthening JI’s global academic network and providing students with enhanced international learning opportunities.
The 13th Chun-Tsug (JunZheng Project) Project is now calling for proposals.
