Description:

The Optical Imaging Laboratory at UM-SJTU Joint Institute focuses on developing photoacoustic imaging systems based on optical sensing systems for ultrasonic detection to achieve high-quality images. Using the advantages of optical sensors, photoacoustic images with ultra-high resolutions and signal-to-noise ratio can be acquired. Besides, compact medical devices required for endoscopic diagnosis can possibly be made. The power of such optical detection platform while using matured manufacturing technologies offers the possibility to build advanced imaging systems for accurate diagnosis and to open up applications related to acoustic sensing with unprecedented sensitivity and bandwidth.
