Mobile Energy Center (MEC)
Description
The Mobile Energy Center of University of Michigan — Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute (JI) is an interdisciplinary research center targeting innovative technologies of renewable energy. The center’s operations will be based on the JI’s international/interdisciplinary faculty team, combining high-quality resources and personnel from other schools of SJTU and the University of Michigan. We tackle cutting-edge research questions in the areas of energy harvesting, storage and management, covering the whole spectrum of technical development, from materials to devices and systems. The center will provide high-level consulting, testing, training and lectures by well-known scholars to the industry, to improve the visibility of the JI and Shanghai Jiao Tong University in this important technical field of mobile energy, and to further attract and gather world-class research resources. The center will also provide support and first-class equipment for the teaching of our JI students in conjunction with the curriculum development of related disciplines at JI.
