The Trip.com Group Sponsored Scholarship Exchange Program is Now Open for Applications

To foster cultural and educational exchanges between the two countries, China and the US have decided to make a collaborative effort to increase the number of American students studying in China.

To support this goal, the UM-SJTU Joint Institute (the Joint Institute) is excited to announce a scholarship opportunity for students attending a semester exchange at the Joint Institute, commencing from Fall 2024. Covering tuition, international flights, accommodation, and culturally immersive activities and trips throughout the semester alongside a monthly stipend of RMB 1,000 (approximately USD 140), the scholarship is designed to serve as a gateway for students to delve deeply into the beauty and dynamism of Chinese culture.

The scholarship will be available to students who are American citizens and have a strong overall performance. To apply for the scholarship, students are invited to submit a compelling application that includes a personal statement, a CV, and a recommendation letter from faculty, industry leaders, mentors, or supervisors.

The scholarship is sponsored by Trip.com Group, a leading global travel service provider committed to fostering cross-cultural understanding and enriching educational experiences.
